The Best Day Of My Life

I had decided that I wanted to try to do my pregnancy posts on Mondays, since that is my week marker for the Little Man(26 weeks)  Not today though.  I feel like I need to focus on a different topic.

Yesterday, in church, there was a talk given that I couldn't stop thinking about last night.  Bro. Loyd had talked about every day being the best day of our lives. (I know I looked like I was sleeping during almost the whole talk, but I promise I was listening.)
Some days, that seems like an impossible thought.  Loved ones pass away, tragedy happens, people just flat out have off days.  Think about it though.  If we searched and focused on the good things each day, even on days that seem to be filled with all bad, then each day can truly be the best day of our lives.
Before I heard about this, and someone asked me, "What was the best day of your life?"  I would have either answered with the day I was married, or the day we found out we were pregnant.  This is wrong though.  Today is.
I have decided that I am going to think about it every day, and come up with a list of reasons why that present day is the best day of my life.  (though I wont post a list everyday.  Just today)
Today is the Best Day of My Life:
  • One more day spent with my Sweetheart
  • One more day closer to meeting the Little Man
  • The Little Man kicked and stretched a lot
  • I got to take a quick nap today
  • One more day I get to be alive
  • The car sat in the sun and was toasty warm when I got in
  • A lady I didn't know told me I was cute(I think she was talking about my stomach)
  • I saw the Little Man kick me today
  • I got to read a little today
  • Another day I got to spend with these cuties

I just wanted to include some kind of picture

  • Talked to my little sister today
  • Our house is still safe
  • Went to someones house for dinner
  • Saw one of the nursery kids(at said house) and learned how much she really does talk
  • Another day that I have the knowledge that I am a daughter of god
  • Another day with a roof over my head.
  • My bed is warm

Lots of things about today make it the best.  I can't wait to see why tomorrow will be the best too.
Thank you Bro. Loyd for such a wonderful talk!

I challenge my current and future readers to do the same.  Think about your day, even if it has been a bad one, and try to make up a list of things that would make it the best day of your life.  It might not be easy, but it could turn a bad day around.

She Knows.

25 weeks pregnant, and finally into prego pants.  Oh man are those bad boys comfy.  Even though my birthday isn't for another month, my mom took me out shopping this weekend and bought me some.  She knew I wasn't going to last till February.  Now I have jeans and work pants that fit my growing tummy.  I do need to get used to them a bit though.  Having this stretchy band covering my stomach is new.  That said, don't be surprised if you see me still wearing them in a year.

Those are my new prego jeans!
There is this strange phenomenon going on in my house.  We are pretty sure that the cat knows I am pregnant.  At first we thought it was just her finally getting used to Zuko.  Although she is okay with him now, even lets him sniff her bum, this is something entirely different.
The weirdo guarding my tummy
She is way more cuddly with me than she has ever been, even before both of the dogs.  She drools on me now.  When I come home/get out of bed/go to the bathroom, she greets me at the door, like the dogs.  She used to stay hidden most of the day, now she likes to be out where I am.  I like it.  Most of the time.  Other times, it is too much.  Like when she wont stop licking me.
This is just a really cute picture of Zuko watching her roll around on me.
Caption this picture.
I'm not sure if you noticed, but I just figured out how to caption pictures (I clicked the button that says "add caption"  who would have thought that it does exactly that)  So what do you think a good caption would be for this last picture?

The perfect quilt for my little man.

About a month before we found out if we were having a boy or a girl, my mom had already started making his quilt.  She was convinced that I was having a boy.  (so was my sister)  She even finished it a couple weeks before our ultrasound.  Good thing she was right because this thing was probably a lot of work.
She said that she saw the material and knew that it had to be for MY boy.  I couldn't agree more.  It is perfect.

My other boys were waiting so patiently for me to finish taking pictures in the office.  They tried to follow me inside.  Unfortunately for them, cat fur, animal curiosity, and Zuko's potty habits have permanently made the office a pet free zone.

2013 Things To Do.

It is now 2013. I know everyone has their new years resolutions.  Loose weight, eat healthier, things that you start at the beginning and try to keep up every day for the next 2 weeks.  Though eating healthier is something that we are trying to do, I've decided that I'm going to make different type of goals.  More of a bucket list for the year.  The current list is as follows:

  • Pintrest project 1
  • Pintrest project 2
  • Pintrest project 3
  • Pintrest project 4
  • Pintrest project 5
  • Pintrest recipe 1:Macaroon Kiss Cookies-Yumm
  • Pintrest recipe 2:Lemon Cream Bars- made them at least 3 times in the same month
  • Pintrest recipe 3:Cheesecake-I did blueberries instead of snickers on top
  • Pintrest recipe 4:Blueberry Cheesecake Popsicle-I made my own whipped cream. not recommended, but they were ok
  • Pintrest recipe 5:Tai Noodle Salad-I HIGHLY suggest you try this one.  Mmmmm.  I could go for some now
  • Pintrest recipe 6:Pumpkin Pie Frozen Yogurt:This was ok.  I used Honey Greek yogurt instead of plain.(I know there is no link, The recipe I followed was in a pin description.  The pin itself led nowhere.
  • Pintrest recipe 7 Horchata Ice Cream-Amazing.  Now, if I can stop getting uncooked rice in it, that would be great.
  • Pintrest recipe 8:Over Night Oats-I actually prefer my oatmeal done over night now.
  • Pintrest recipe 9:Watermelon Strawberry Lemonaid-We made ours with watermelon syrup instead of fresh watermelon.  It was pretty good.  To me.
  • Pintrest recipe 10: "Resurrection Rolls"-These were ok.  The marshmallow didn't disappear, but exploded and popped out of the roll.  Super messy.
  • Switch to more natural cleaners for our house:
  • Fix up the room for the little man:I need to post pictures.  His room is the cutest.
  • Learn more about sewing
  • Make a blanket for the little man
  • Learn more about making baby food:So easy. Bake. Blend. Done
  • Have more spa days for myself: I think I still need to work on this one.
  • Read at least 10 more books:  I read a couple. None that were great, but I read a lot more than I have since we got married.

Of course there is so much more that I want to accomplish.  I will have to keep adding to the list the more I grow.  Lets see how the year goes.

23 Weeks and Counting Down

As of today, I am 23 weeks pregnant with our little boy.  Which may seem crazy since I haven't posted about it till now.  Our little man is due at the end of April.  We have only 4 more months to get ready for him.  On one hand, 4 months feels like forever away, but I know once we get closer, it may of gone by too fast.

Life being pregnant thus far:
  • I had a little bit of morning sickness in the beginning   It mostly consisted of getting sick once (with several close calls)  and just avoiding a LOT of stuff.  Little man is not a fan of sugary things. (especially chocolate)  I can tolerate most of the stuff that used to make me sick except for eggs.
  • Things that I have craved- cold pizza, Cambodian soup made by a friend of ours, homemade pumpkin empanadas, french fries  corndogs, KFC coleslaw, steak, black pepper, mustard, and plums.  I have also been wanting some pumpkin cheesecake lately, but I cant tell if it is a baby craving, or just a "its that time of the year" thing.
  • I have been trying to sleep mostly on my left side, which they say is what you are supposed to do, but man, sleeping on the same side the whole time makes me sore.
  • The hubby does not smell good anymore.  I remember sitting with him in church and leaning over just to smell him.  Not anymore.  Though that, just like my eating habits, are starting to go slightly back to normal.  That is, he doesn't stink anymore.
  • I love being kicked.  Nothing too hard yet.  Just little ones.  They make my day though.  I like to try and lay in bed a little longer in the morning because he kicks the bed.  Night time too.  Occasionally he will kick me during the day.  Though Sarah has been telling me she could feel him kick since I was about 10 weeks.
  • The cramping has started.  Oh man, does it hurt.  sometimes it will happen when I move my feet around at night, but a lot of the time, it happens around my hips when I try to get up.  Not fun.
  • As bad as that sounds, I think my least favorite part of this is the prenatal vitamins.  Talk about not fun.  I had to switch to gummy ones because every time I would try to swallow those giant pills, my body would try to throw it and everything else out of my system.  Even though the gummies don't make me throw up when I eat them, they taste so icky that I have to be careful of what I do afterwards.  Toothpaste is pretty much not going near me within half an hour of me taking them.
  • The main thing that has been getting to me most everyday is how tired I am.  Growing a person is hard work, and my body definitely lets me know that.
Mostly, I have had a super good pregnancy.  I am very fortunate in that. I also have a lot of support around the house.  I have the best husband at times like these.

We are so excited and nervous to be parents.  Mostly excited though.  I just want to meet him already and shower him in hugs and kisses.  Dress him in cute little sweaters and ties.  Teach him how to be a gentleman, and how to cook.  Watch him wrestle with daddy and to boys(Freckles and Zuko)  Mostly I cant wait to see him smile.  It will definitely be an exciting start to a new part in our lives.

*gasp* She lives!

I know, I know.  Where have I been?  Absolutely nowhere.  Just sitting at home, not blogging.  At least I have cute pictures to post right?  Nope.  Nothing.  I figured that I should post at least something though, since it has been a month and a half.
Actually,  I just got my computer back a week ago.  It had a virus last month that we tried to get rid of, then found out that our windows recovery discs didn't work.  Now my computer is just like it was when I first got it.  Which means all my pictures are on a disc somewhere and not anywhere that I can find it.  Also, my camera(and husband) are not here either.  They are in Montana.  Why Montana?  Well that is where my handsome man's dad is at for the week.  Why do I keep asking questions like this?  Because I feel like it.
Seriously though, I am so excited that he can visit his dad this weekend.  I am also excited for all the pictures he is taking...or the ones he better be taking.  I sure do miss him terribly though.  At around 5:30,  Freckles went and sat by the front window and just stared outside waiting for the car to pull up.
While the hubby has been gone, I have done pretty much nothing.  Haleigh came to stay with me so we put up my Christmas tree and relaxed all day.

Other than this,  there are actually a LOT of new things going on with us.  Including some new craft things, new recipes, and some even more exciting news.  All in good time though.  Once I fix my picture situation, I will try to post it all.
For now though,  I have two puppies trying to sabotage me. One trying to knock over my foot rest and another one trying to kick my just-fixed computer to the floor.  Pictures soon.
