hangn' with the kids

So this September was my older brother's fiance, Bernice's, Birthday. We had a lot of fun, and Jill (my awesome older sister) Made a giant cup cake for her.

best cake ever!

then, James and Sarah came over to visit and we had all sorts of fun with the swings out back.

James loved to show of how he could hop on the swing, and got pretty good at it too.

While it is weird to have just a picture of a couple of pieces of nectarines, but it is quite amazing at how fast Sarah ate it. This is all that is left of it RIGHT WHEN I FINISHED CUTTING! Man that girl can eat fast.

New member of our little family

So about 2 weeks ago, we got a little kitty. She is about 5 years old. Definitely not a kitten. But perfect because she is old enough to know NOT to scratch the couch and make the landlords mad. Her name her former owners gave her is "precious" but our nephew said "She looks more like a princess to me" so Luis and I just call her Kitty.

She is very sweet but leaves cat hair EVERYWHERE! It has been decided to not let her on the bed anymore since Luis put his black suit jacket on the bed and came away with a white one. I have broken that rule a couple times, but only because she is so darn cuddly! Plus, It is a good way to keep our Niece happy. All we have to do when she is crying is say "Sarah, were is the kitty?" and she gets all excited.

I love our new kitty. She makes the perfect addition to our cute little family. Hopefully the next addition will be a baby...or a dog. (Just kidding)

fun filled summer

A lot of things have happened since then. Our friend Gilbert came out to visit for a little bit, and the boys took me to my first club! It was a lot of fun! Also this summer, my family rented a cabin out in twain heart, Luis and I brought everyones bikes and found a nice trail to ride on. We took my little brother ands sister, Michael and Haleigh out for a 4 mile bike ride. Other then the bugs that alternatively flew into my eye, and then up my nose, it was a lot of fun. It also made me realize how big haleigh is getting.

The main thing that was going on for me this summer was the wedding of my best friend. that happend two days ago on the 30th (finally catching up with the time!) Though I dont have any pictures of her, Janie made a very beautiful bride. It was crazy to think how things progress through time. It feels like such a short time ago that we were just behives in young women, and now we are both married. (I'll bet this makes our young women leaders feel old) And married to wonderful men, I might add.

our wedding

We were married in the oakland temple on february 26th (I know that was 5 months ago and I'm super late in posting it) It was the best and most important day of our lives.

Luis' mom got to come too! Which is a very big deal. I was completly nervous to meet her. She is a beautiful woman and very nice. I loved her imidiately!

My brides maids were my sisters,(from the left) Bernice, Brooke, Jill, and my best friend, Janie. They all did a great job putting up with the dresses i made them wear. My little sister, Haleigh, was a junior bridesmaid and my little flower girls were Jills baby, Sarah, and My new adoptive neice Danika. They were so cute in there little dresses and jackets.

Luis' groomsmen were(from left) our good friend Kevin, my oldest brother Eric, our friends karl and Efren. It was very nice to have them all there.

Since it rained, we were able to use the temples nice white umbrellas, which helped when it came to the picture taking

The cake was made by my Aunt. She pretty much makes ALL of the family wedding cakes. and boy is she good at it!

Pretty much, it was the perfect start to our lives!

Engaged

After the corn Maze, I decided that I really liked this handsome man. So i flirted for a week then got date two. Yay! He picked me up, signed one of the famous bullets that my dad makes all the boys sign. Then about 2 months latter(ok, more like one)

TADA! We got engaged! (Duh) We told my parents, who had a confusing reaction. My mom was freaking out, but then told me that she knew we were going to get married since the first time he picked me up. I just remember thinking, "Well I would have liked to know." and "Why are you freaking out!"

We got busy preparing everything for the day. It was hard to choose a day, and figure out where we wanted to have it. My mom did do most of the work. I was sorta in that "I just want to get married." mind set. She made the invitations which were super cute, AND the brides maid dresses.

My cousin, Jamie, took our engagement pictures, and as you can see,
they turned out super cute. She is an amazing photographer.
My sister threw both my Bridal Shower and Batcholorett party. They turned out to be super fun. Jill did a very good Job.
The weeks went by and got crazier. Note to all brides, always try wedding dresses on even if your going to order them at the store. As it turned out, what I thought I wanted, and what I actually wanted were not the same thing. I picked one out online that I was sure I was the one. After I tried a couple on, that dress became a little ugle. When I finnally found THE DRESS, It had to be altered and cleaned. I got it the week before my wedding. I know that is cutting it close, which would have been ok...If it had actually fit me. The alterations almost did the opposite of what we wanted.
Thank goodness my mom is a seamstress. She fixed it herself. Shows you EXACTLY how good she is. (And she is good)
Then the day came.

The Begining

October, 2009, Luis asked me (Lisa) to go to the corn maze with him. A lot has happened since then. And I mean a lot! Seeing as I'm a little late on the whole "blog" thing, we are going to fast forward a little bit. I'm very new to this whole blog thing, so bear with me as I get used to everything.
