Picmonkey Playtime

So I started playing with the photo editor at picmonkey.com and have now fell in love.  It is so easy to work with and a lot of fun here are just a couple images that I have fixed up. In 3 different stages

I took out the red eye(but not the pet eye because it make Freckles look crazier than he already does) and messed with the color on my face a bit.  adding some dark edges.
I really like how it turned out. (I could even make myself look tanner...but that was a little too much for me)

This is a pen and ink picture I drew when I took art my Junior year of High School.  it is one that I really enjoyed doing and liked for the most part how it turned out.  So it is one that I have kept onto.

On pick monkey, there is a tool called "Lip Stain."  I really like this tool because it allows you to color something in, without getting rid of the details of that item.  I used that to color the drawing in.  I always wondered what it would look like with some coloring.  And because I used "Lip Stain" all of my original shading is still there.

Then I went further and put the picture through black and white.  With the black and white tool, there is an option to use the pen.  The pen erases the black and white parts, turning it to the original.  I thought to try it out with the flowers and ladybugs.  I liked this much better than the fully colored one.  I also liked the touch of green that was left around the flowers and ladybugs.
You have all seen this picture on my facebook.  If you have gone back far enough, you have seen it on here too.  This was taken on new years a couple years ago.  See how I have taken it and transformed it.

I went through the editing process, teeth whitened, lips stained (on my lips this time instead of a piece of artwork...though to warn you, you have to be very careful because using this tool is EXACTLY like coloring and does not conform to your lips) messed with the coloring.
Then put it through another color altering tool (sepia I think) Put Sarah's bits of pink through the effect eraser, then added a film border to it.
I really had fun with Picmonkey.  Can you tell?  Tell me what you think.  And be sure to check it out if you haven't already.

Wearable Cupcake

If you remember, I made Haleigh a sock monkey hat for Christmas.  After that, we got a bunch of "orders" from my family.  None of which I have started.  Except the cupcake hat mom wanted for Haleigh's birthday (in march.)  Well I finally finished it!

I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.  I learned some new stuff.  Like how to make that rose.  AND I taught myself/created (not sure which one it is) the waffly design at the bottom.

Haleigh Likes it too.

Now to start on ALL of my other hats.

Weekly 10

If you read my last post, you know that I am trying to post something every week.  Well this still counts as once a week.  Though, hopefully, I will be posting my "weekly 10" on Sundays.  Though a series of events (mostly meaning I have been sick) prevented me from doing much the past couple days.  So here it is, today.
I also must say, the "weekly 10" is NOT my idea.  I got the idea from this wonderful lady Tausha (Yay!  I figured out how to make the URL Show up as her name!  Click on her name.  You know you want to.)  Stay tuned.  We are hoping she can turn the "weekly 10" into a linky party soonish.
So finally, here is my
Weekly 10
  1. We got our offer accepted on a house. (house inspection came back with good news too)
  2. We were able to take Freckles to the dog park twice this week (I feel like I'm copying Tausha)
  3. Luis' birthday was on Sunday.
  4. I was sick for his birthday
  5. I decided to start crafting more and am finally almost done with Haleigh's cupcake hat.
  6. I'm also working on selling some bows and such. (thanks Reanna and Liz for the help!)
  7. My big brother, Eric, gave us some boxes so we can start packing...all of which are from some sort of alcoholic beverage(Its funny to us because we don't drink)
  8. I was able to go to Jamsie's game this week.
  9. I got to see my other big brother, Mark.
  10. I was given permission to tell the blogging world of my new niece  arriving sometime around July 20th.  Congratulations Mark and Mandi!
That last one has been on my mind a lot.  I'm so excited to see my brother become a dad.  I love Nieces.  I love Nephews too, but now I will have a baby one of each.  Andrew and little Mandi(They aren't telling her name till she is born, so that is what I will call her for now) will be pretty close in age.  Gahh!  I can't wait to meet her!
Poor Mandi will never be able to get rid of us.  That's ok though.  The Hampton (/Boyer/Huerta) clan is pretty awesome.  She wont want to get rid of us.
Man that little girl will be spoiled with love.

Lets try this again.

I am always making this goal to blog at least once a week, but like most of what I do, I completely forget about it almost the moment I decide to do it.  So here I am trying to re-start my "at least once a week goal" Here is what has been going on with us.
(Oh, and please excuse my lack of pictures.  I forgot my camera...at my parents house...again...)
  • We have been looking for a house.  (I discovered that I dislike house shopping)
  • I attempted to have a Scentsy party.  Attempted being the key word
  • It turned out OK, because I went to my sister's instead and Andrew smiled at me for the 1st time.
  • I held Andrew without him crying for a whole 5 min
  • I completely cleaned my house on Saturday
  • We went and picked up trash at Lodi lake with Mormon helping hands
  • I discovered that I love turtles.  (Luis thinks we are going to have a zoo by the time we are old.)
  • We got to spend most of the weekend with Sarah a week ago.
  • I painted my nails super cute this weekend.
  • We had a family meeting about goal setting.

When I told my parents that we had a family meeting they laughed.  Something about calling it "Family Council" and there only being the two of us.  Oh well.
I am excited about our goal setting.  We really needed to do that and re asses where we would like to be in the next couple of years (you know, things like GO BACK TO SCHOOL)

How long do you think I will stick with this blogging thing this time?
