We had a lot of fun making our glow in the dark slime. What could be more fun than making a mess?
All you need is:
1 bottle of glue
1/4 C water
1/2 C liquid starch.
Any color/glitter/small toy ect add ins
(You can find a video directions that I followed HERE. She actually has some other really cool ideas to put in it)
Then we added food coloring and glow in the dark glitter...A little tip: don't try to capture the glitter pouring on camera if you have a child who loves pouring and want any of that glitter left over.
After that, we stirred in the starch and it got real clumpy real fast.
Once it got hard to stir, all we had to do was start playing. It was super sticky and stringy, but after we played with it for a minute or two, then let it sit for another minute, it started to look more like the slime you are thinking of.
All in all, it was a success...with my Niece and Nephew. Bryan? Not so much. He is still not liking sticky messy things.
Notes about this project:
- This is probably better as a "down to the diaper" project. We may have gotten it banned at my sister's due to it getting stuck on anything made out of fabric. It does not care if that is your favorite shirt.
- Use whatever color glue for whatever effect you want. You can even use the kids glitter glue. Then it comes already tinted and everything.
- If your kid is anti messy hands, be prepared for it to get flung everywhere.
- And like I stated before, if you take pictures, be careful of what stage of the slime making process you are at.
If you have made this before, what kind of things do your kids enjoy in thier slime?
